Frequently questions from parents
At Kids Kare we recognize that each child and family is unique, and therefore, we don't adhere to a one-size-fits-all settling-in program. Instead, we emphasize a personalized approach to ensure that the transition to our nursery is tailored to the individual needs of each child and their family.
Our settling-in guide encourages children to gradually acclimate to the new setting, environment, and key caregivers before participating in a full day at the nursery. We prioritize a gentle settling-in process, aiming to create a supportive atmosphere that fosters a sense of security for both the child and their family.
In accordance with our approach, we have established clear guidelines that prohibit allowing a child to consistently cry out during this adjustment period. Instead, our focus is on providing gentle support and understanding to facilitate a smooth transition for both the child and their family. We believe that this approach promotes a positive and nurturing start to their nursery experience.
At Kids Kare Nursery, fostering a loving and supportive environment is at the core of everything we do. Our dedicated team of caregivers is not only highly qualified but also deeply passionate about providing a loving atmosphere for every child. We understand that each child is unique, and we take the time to build strong connections with them, ensuring they feel secure, valued, and cherished.
In an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) nursery setting, our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to holistically nurture children's development across key areas. Through engaging activities, such as free play with diverse materials, circle time fostering social interaction, and messy play encouraging sensory exploration, we prioritize Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, and Physical Development. Our outdoor play initiatives further enhance coordination and environmental awareness. Activities like storytelling, role-playing, and literacy-focused sessions aim to instill a love for reading and support language development. We incorporate mathematics through hands-on tasks, encourage artistic expression via art and craft activities, and promote coordination and rhythm through music and movement. Science and exploration activities stimulate curiosity about the world, while cooking engagements foster an understanding of healthy eating. Puzzles and games are strategically incorporated to support problem-solving and cognitive skills. Emphasizing age-appropriate, individualized approaches, our activities align with the EYFS framework, ensuring a well-rounded foundation for each child's early education journey. Our favorite activites are project-based learning activities and process art.
The children in Kids Kare Nursery are far too busy engaging in play to be watching TV! However, at the end of a topic, the children have a party related to the topic and can watch a video during the party. We always obtain consent from parents beforehand and share all the necessary information about the party with them.
Yes, of course! Creating a conducive sleep environment is indeed crucial for the overall well-being and development of children. In your approach, the use of supported beds in designated sleep rooms ensures that children can rest comfortably, promoting a sense of security and relaxation. This supportive infrastructure contributes to the development of healthy sleep habits, allowing children to independently engage in the restorative process of sleep. The incorporation of calming music and storytelling before bedtime adds another layer of positive stimulation, helping to create a soothing and predictable bedtime routine. If children no longer sleep during the day then the schedule continues with supported staff following teacher plans.
At Kids Kare Nursery, we actively assist children in their toilet training journey. Collaborating closely with families, we provide a supportive environment to help children navigate and succeed in this important developmental milestone. Our approach involves a team effort, ensuring a seamless transition and fostering a positive and cooperative atmosphere between the nursery and families during this significant phase in a child's growth.
At Kids Kare nursery we have a behaviour policy in place that is part of our induction with parents and new employees. Creating a positive and effective learning environment for children is one of our most important pillars, our policy employs various strategies rooted in child development.
Encouraging good behavior through positive reinforcement, such as praise helps children comprehend expected conduct. Establishing clear and age-appropriate rules ensures that children thrive within defined boundaries.
Serving as role models, we positively influence children by modeling desired behavior and demonstrating effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Effective communication, active listening, and cultivating empathy contribute to a supportive social atmosphere, fostering emotional development, which effectively helps children with their behaviour, self-confidence, and social skills. We do not use hard punishments or time-outs. We use areas called ‘Calm down corners’ these allow us to support children at difficult moments to help them regulate their emotions.
While we do not have an onsite nurse, we adhere to the regulatory standards set by the Dubai Health Authorities, ensuring that a minimum of 20% of our staff members are trained in first aid. Our team is highly proficient in first aid procedures, and we have established a licensed clinic authorized by the Dubai Health Authorities to address any health-related concerns. This commitment to first aid training and a licensed clinic reflects our dedication to providing a safe and secure environment for the well-being of the children in our care.
In Dubai, there are established government guidelines and regulations governing the use of surveillance cameras, especially in public spaces such as childcare facilities. Cameras are strategically placed throughout the setting as a precautionary measure aimed at guaranteeing the safety and well-being of the children under care. However, it's important to note that allowing parents to access the camera feeds is prohibited by law and contravenes our safeguarding and data protection policies. Our commitment to
maintaining a secure environment necessitates strict adherence to these policies to ensure the safety of all children in our care.
